Amanda at My Very Own Modern Family is hosting a link-up for how we all came up with our kid's names.
So since I really don't know the back story to my step-son's name (bad momma, I know), Miss Amelia will have to do.
This feisty almost 2 year old has been Amelia in some form since we knew she was a girl. Me (Andrea) My sister (Amber) her kids (Anthony and Abby) and my cousins (AJ and Amanda) played an obvious part in the selection. My husband was actually the one to choose Amelia. She has 2 middle names, Elaine after my sister and my Nana (funny that my sister was named after my Nana since they did not get a long at all). Hunter is her other middle name, named after my husband's late mother's middle name. Hunter was in contention as her first name for a long time, especially after my future, non-pregnant, non engaged (at the time) sister-in-law threw a full on fit. She wanted to use it as her future son's nickname. So naturally I wanted to name my new daughter Hunter even more than before... But Amelia won in the end and I think it fits fabulously! (I can still have another kid named Hunter, right?)
Cara Box time! Have you been over to Wifessionals? She hosts a monthly Cara Box swap. It's a great way to get to know your fellow blogger. So go check it out!
This month I was paired up with Katy over at The Stones. I had a blast getting to know her this month and it was very obvious that she put a lot of thought into my Cara Box.
Along with a card with details as to why she chose certain items, this box was overflowing with goodness.
Here is the list:
- two awesome new nail polish colors
- homemade foot scrub and a foot scrubbing brush
- scented bath salts
- medicated blistex, ibuprofen, and sunscreen, all good items for my 1/2 marathon
- Energy Blasts, Odwalla energy bar, gu chomp (all things I have wanted to try)
- a loofah
- a sleep mask
- a super cute Princess Valentine
Thanks so much Katy, I see some awesome soaks in the tub in the very new future and my feet will thank you for all of the goodies. You really out did yourself.

Love the name Amelia!
