She turned around and gave that big booty a smack

I'm back... I missed blogging a lot and thought of several posts on my runs over my vacation, but never sat down to write them. As a result, this may turn out to be a random mash up of 2 weeks of my life and will probably make me sound very ADD! Let's get to it!

So my title today is courtesy of Flo Rida, (btw I didn't realize that he was from Florida, until I moved here) I heard "Low" during one of my runs and it got me thinking of how much of a mom I am now. What's that you say? "Low" isn't the anthem for motherhood? Well since this song is in one of my son's favorite movies, (and lets be honest, I love it too) "Zookeeper" every damn time I hear it I think more of  Kevin James and a Gorilla at TGI Fridays, than I do about being in my 20's and dancing in cages at Graham's back in Arizona. (I warned you about the ADD style of this post)

Now lets talk Holiday Goals. I pretty much failed miserably at all 3 goals I had set for myself. My 1st goal was to run 30 miles over the 11 days I was off, I ran 29 miles, so I guess I can call that a win, but still, 1 mile off! WTF?! So my 2nd goal was to enjoy Xmas day guilt free and then to get back to it the next day, I enjoyed that day and then some! My last goal was to weigh in at 163 which would have been a loss of about 5lbs, didn't happen, not even close.... My 'reward' was supposed to be new shoes, and as much as I don't deserve them, my father-in-law got me a gift certificate to a running store for Christmas, so I did get me some much needed new running kicks. I broke them in on a 9.5 mile run the next day and will give them another long workout next weekend when I run 11 miles. Only 49 days until my Half Marathon!

Christmas was fantastic. We stayed at my father-in-laws house that week and we all had so much fun!
Amelia and granddad dancing!
You are off for 2 weeks mama? Ahhhhh!
Matching staches!
Santa brought Liam and Amelia a new jeep.. Liam is such a poser!
After a few days back at our house, we headed back to my father-in-law's (John) house for the New Year as we had some friends coming into town for the Orange Bowl and John being the gracious host that he is allowed us to host them in his home. It was great to see them and their beautiful little girl. I had only met Dave and Cait on one other occasion and it was wonderful to get to spend more time with them. Plus they brought me homemade mustard... made with Guinness, it is so tasty!

As many of you know he has a pool at his house and Amelia LOVES to be outside and she LOVES to be in the pool. Just a few days before this incident I came home from a run and she is sitting on the 1st step of the pool fully clothed (my husband has no control over this kid).
After said clothing had been removed
Well Amelia likes to live on the edge and walks as close as she can to the pool, she also likes to bend down and put her in hand in the water. We were all geared up and ready to jump into the pool if she fell in.. Well everyone but me, because when she did fall in and I jumped in to get her, I quickly realized I had my brand new watch and my fitbit still on. Thankfully both are still up and running and Amelia thought it was a good time. When she got out of the water she said "I water", "I silly". So needless to say, she is starting swim lessons when we get home from Arizona this month.
My wound from rescuing Amelia from the pool
Our New Year's eve was spent with friends and their kids at a park and then to dinner at Duffy's. Then we hung out at John's and watched bowl games (slept) patiently until midnight, champagne toast and then bed time.
Proof that we need to have more kids, they love Ross
So that was my time off. I am so glad I don't have to get back into running because I continued to run while I was off. I don't make New Year's Resolutions, so I am just going to keep up with my goals that I set for myself in March 2011 and then I will make some new ones this March. I'm looking for 2-3 lbs lost per week until my half marathon on February 24th. This will put me at my original goal weight of 150 and 60lbs lost over a 1 year period. I started back at Hot Yoga last night and will keep up with my running to help reach this major milestone.

I hope your 2013 is starting off right and that you all had a wonderful Holiday break!
